India registered an emphatic victory over West Indies in the first Test in Dominica. Rohit Sharma and his troops mauled the hosts at Windsor Park as they won by an innings and 171 runs.
Virat Kohli has been a mainstay in the Indian team and he has been a prime performer for the nation across all formats. Kohli has been part of India’s two ICC title-winning campaigns since his debut in 2009.
And Kohli has now gone past MS Dhoni in the appearances list in an international win. The India batter was part of his 296th international victory in Dominica as an Indian player, and now has surpassed MS Dhoni. Dhoni, who led India to three ICC titles, was part of 295 India wins in his career.
Kohli is now the 2nd highest Indian with most appearances in a win and only the legend Sachin Tendulkar is ahead of him. Sachin Tendulkar has been part of 307 international wins as an Indian player.
Virat Kohli to play his 500th international match
Kohli will also play his 500th international match in the 2nd Test against West Indies. The batter has so far played 110 Tests, 274 ODIs and 115 T20Is for India and has scored over 25000 international runs across all formats.
Sachin Tendulkar is the player with the most international matches as the master blaster took part in 664 international matches.
India take on West Indies in the 2nd Test which starts from Thursday (July 20) at the Queen’s Park Oval.
