Virgil Abloh, Lenny Kravitz, and the United Nations: See All the Nominees and Honorees for this Year’s CFDA Awards

Last month, the CFDA announced the list of nominees and honorees that will be celebrated at this year’s Fashion Awards, which will take place on Monday, November 7, at Cipriani South Street at Casa Cipriani in New York City. The festivities will mark a major milestone, the 60th anniversary of the CFDA, and will be hosted by Proenza Schouler’s Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, Aurora James, Joseph Altuzarra, and Gabriela Hearst.

“This year’s nominees reflect the renewed excitement around American fashion generated by designers who are redefining the future of our industry,” CFDA CEO Steven Kolb said. Among the nominees across all categories are first-timers like Willy Chavarria, LaQuan Smith, Khaite’s Catherine Holstein, Amiri’s Mike Amiri, Luar’s Raul Lopez, Elena Velez, and Puppets and Puppets’s Carly Mark.

Additionally, SKIMS, Kim Kardashian’s shapewear and loungewear brand, is receiving the first-ever Innovation Award. Presented by Amazon Fashion, the award recognizes a brand that is “leading with technology and innovation” across a variety of fields like marketing and product development, that shapes the way “customers are shopping for fashion.” Kardashian will be accepting the award alongside Co-Founder and CEO Jens Grede, and Founding Partner and Chief Product Officer Emma Grede.

Also honored at the event will be stylist Patti Wilson, who will receive the Eugenia Sheppard Award; Lenny Kravitz will be named 2022’s Fashion Icon; and the United Nations will be presented with the Environmental Sustainability Award. Law Roach will receive the first-ever Stylist Award. A special posthumous award will be given to Virgil Abloh to honor his many contributions to the global fashion industry. Other awards and honorees will be announced in the coming days.
