Virgin River fans concerned for Jack Sheridan after season 5 update

Virgin River fans concerned for Jack Sheridan after season 5 update

Virgin River is set to return next month for its fifth season and the team behind the hit Netflix show have teased a photo from the upcoming episodes.

However, that photo, which was shared to the official Virgin River Instagram feed, has some fans feeling slightly worried for one of the show’s most beloved characters.

The image in question shows Jack Sheridan, played by Martin Henderson, with a pensive look on his face.

The caption reads: “What’s Jack thinking about? ….and go!”

Viewers were quick to comment with their thoughts as to why Jack could be looking so concerned.

One person wrote: “If I’m not the dad of the twins then who is?!”

Throughout the first four seasons of the Netflix romantic drama, Charmaine Roberts (played by Lauren Hammersley) claimed that her ex-boyfriend Jack was the father of her unborn twins.

But in one of the show’s now infamous cliffhangers at the end of season four, Charmaine revealed that she had been lying all along. So, maybe that is what is causing him to look so distressed.

A second viewer had similar thoughts while also jokingly asking if Jack was thinking: “Is Charmaine EVER going to give birth?”

Another fan took to the comment section to wonder whether it might have something to do with his fiance Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge)’s pregnancy. They added: “Something to do with Mel and the pregnancy”

In season four it was announced that Jack is definitely the father of Mel’s baby and that they are expecting a little girl.

But given the drama surrounding Charmaine and the tragic way in which Mel’s first pregnancy ended, when she was still married to her former husband Mark (Daniel Gillies), could this be the reason for Jack’s concern?

A fourth concurred that his demeanour in the photograph could have something to do with him becoming a father for the first time by posting: “Am I gonna be a good father?”

Fans will need to tune in to see exactly why Jack is looking so anxious.

But there isn’t too long to wait until Virgin River returns to screens this September.

It is worth noting that the upcoming batch of twelve episodes have been split into two parts.

While the first ten episodes will be released on September 7, two holiday episodes will air on November 30.

Seasons 1-4 of Virgin River are available to stream on Netflix, with season 5 part 1 airing on September 7.
