Dusan Vlahovic has helped chase some of the clouds away for Juventus, scoring two goals and assisting a third in a 3-0 win at Salernitana.
The victory snapped a run of three league matches without a win for Juventus, who found themselves nine points above Serie A’s relegation zone going into the match following a 15-point penalty for false accounting.
It meant the match was a surprise relegation battle with Salernitana, who lay just two points further back in 16th place.
But Vlahovic helped Juventus push away from their unaccustomed position hovering above the bottom three.
The Serbia international scored his first goal for the club since October in the 26th minute from the penalty spot, after Fabio Miretti had been fouled by Salernitana midfielder Nicolussi Caviglia – on loan from Juventus.
Juve doubled their lead on the stroke of halftime when the Salernitana defence failed to clear a cross and Vlahovic’s wayward shot came through for Filip Kostic to bundle in.
Vlahovic missed out on that occasion but doubled his tally two minutes after the break with a precise shot into the bottom right corner following a Nicolo Fagioli through ball.
