VW makes appeal to India’s fast-growing female customer base

A new Volkswagen dealership in India is staffed entirely by women in a bid to attract female customers and promote diversity in the industry.

Volkswagen Passenger Cars India said women are rapidly becoming a larger proportion of the country’s vehicle buyers.

The All Women City Store, operated in partnership with the Ramani Cars dealership group, aims to create an “exclusive and confident environment for women customers, as well as a dedicated space for them to start their car-ownership journey,” the automaker said in a statement.

The store, which has more than 35 female employees, also is intended to draw more women into the industry and promote them to leadership roles, said Volkswagen, which sells the Virtus sedan and the Taigun and Tiguan crossovers in India.
