Madeley’s Alex Ambrosino does an Exmouth fishing trip yearly.
He and four mates have towed a 6m boat up for the past four years.
Their most recent trip saw some good mixed catches including red emperor, spangled emperor, rankin cod, tomato cod and Robinson sea bream.
On the last drop of one day, in around 100m of water, Alex sent down a bait of squid on a Demon Blood rod and overhead reel spooled with 23kg braid.
Given they had a lot of problems with sharks, all on board were amazed when he was able to pull up a double-header from the depths.
With the pair of fish both fighting hard, Alex somehow managed to get a red emperor and spangled emperor past the grey overcoat brigade.
All on board were most impressed with his efforts.
Alex has also won a Shimano lure wrap tackle box, which he can pick up from any of WA’s three Compleat Angler and Camping World stores, and he is in the running to win the monthly prize of a Shimano combo.
