SANTA CRUZ – Cones block the entrance to the parking lot and overturned shopping carts with hand-written “closed” signs rest in front of the doors to a Santa Cruz Walgreens, 1718 Soquel Ave.
The store on the corner of Soquel and Haggeman Drives in Santa Cruz is closed for due to a termite infestation, according to Director of External Relations Fraser Engerman.
Customers will not be able to access the retail side of the store for the remainder of the week while the store is fumigated. However, residents who use the chain as their pharmacy will still have access to prescriptions.
The company’s pharmacy has moved to a temporary location in the store’s parking lot. The mobile pharmacy was originally set to open at 9 a.m. Tuesday, but a generator failure caused it to be non-operational. Now, Walgreens expects the pharmacy to open at 9 a.m. Wednesday.
The store also expects to reopen its doors at 8 a.m. Sunday.
