Eataly Silicon Valley doesn’t open until Thursday, June 16, at Westfield Valley Fair, but you can plan your first trip to Terra, the rooftop restaurant and lounge, now.
Reservations are being accepted at OpenTable for dinner being served from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, until 9:30 on Friday and Saturday. Those are the inaugural hours for the Santa Clara restaurant with all-alfresco seating; lunch will be added later. No walk-ins will be seated during these early weeks.
The restaurant is built around a wood-burning Italian grill. Look for small plates — skewers of Arrosticini (lamb, beef or chicken) and Funghi Trombetta (king trumpet mushrooms drizzled with balsamic vinegar) — along with steak and fish entrees, house-made pasta, antipasti and grilled vegetables.
“Almost every dish touches the fire in some way,” Eataly managing partner Adam Saper said.
A gin-and-tonic, made with gin from the Amalfi coast, is the cocktail of choice here. The wine list features 30 selections by the glass and more than 50 by the bottle.
Inside on the third floor, the casual La Pizza & La Pasta will start accepting reservations — and walk-ins — on June 16.
