Draymond Green waived his player option for next season in order to test the free agent market.
While Green may be eyeing a big pay day, he’s reportedly not chasing an opportunity elsewhere. According to NBA insider Marc Stein, the four-time All-Star is more than willing to return to the Warriors.
Stein wrote this weekend that there is “strong confidence” that Golden State and Green will agree to a new, multi-year contract.

The player option Green turned down was worth $27.6 million for next season, and the veteran forward is said to be seeking a contract upwards of $100 million.
As for non-Warriors organizations potentially interested in pursuing Green, the Memphis Grizzlies reportedly were considering it before they traded for Marcus Smart.
Also, the Los Angeles Lakers and Sacramento Kings have been mentioned for Green. Green is very friendly with Lakers’ superstar LeBron James, and the Kings could be looking to add another experienced player to their emerging young core.
