The Golden State Warriors shocked the NBA world on Thursday when they traded for 12-time All-Star point guard Chris Paul. The team moved Jordan Poole to the Washington Wizards in what appeared to be a shifting of large contracts.
Some fans wondered if the Warriors would keep the 38-year-old Paul, considering his age and the likelihood that Paul may want a starting position.
Despite the chatter, the team is reportedly planning to stick with Paul and figure out a way to work him into their roster.
Golden State will not waive Chris Paul and is looking forward to partnering with the star to make a championship run, league sources tell @NBAonTNT, @BleacherReport.

According to Bleacher Report’s Chris Haynes, the Warriors say they will not waive Paul. The team is looking forward to working with the guard to make a run at another championship.
Paul adds a veteran presence to a team filled with championship players. Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson each have four titles, and there are several other players still on the roster from the 2022 title run.
Paul, notably, has never won a championship. It makes sense that he would want to play for a contending team, which the Warriors believe that they are, instead of a rebuilding team like the Wizards.
At 38 years old, Paul likely doesn’t have too many more seasons in the NBA.
That means his championship window is closing with each year that passes. Now, he has a chance to finally win the one accolade that has eluded him in his Hall of Fame career.
