On Saturday night the UFC 280 judges handed Sean O’Malley a split decision win over Petr Yan, and effectively a title shot as well. Prior to the fight UFC president, Dana White said the winner would be the next to fight for the UFC bantamweight title.
MMA Twitter was in an uproar when the scores were read, many believing that Yan had done enough to get the nod and it looks like former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov felt the same way.

In the video, Nurmagomedov is told that Yan lost via a split decision and he is seen putting his hand over his mouth in shock then an angry and confused look. He basically showed the three emotions that most fans felt on Saturday night.
“How? How? No, how?” he says.
“How is it possible, brother? I swear I gave him every round!” he says to someone off-camera.
Nurmagomedov wasn’t alone in his thoughts, even O’Malley himself seems stunned when the results were read.
Yan and Nurmagomedov are both Russian and while they don’t train together regularly they do show support.
