Smiley dropped his latest single “Nicky Nine Door” today.
The doorbell-ringing-and-running referencing track was produced by Flarryse and Yxngtee, and mixed by Devin Nakao.
The OVO Sound rapper released an accompanying video which sees him partying in multiple locations like a rundown kitchen, a gas station, and a train cart. The video was directed by King Bee Productions.
About a minute into the video, Drake appears in a cameo, touching Smiley’s shoulder before it cuts back to partying as usual.
The song itself boasts Smiley’s air-tight flows and sticky hooks as focuses on his lavish lifestyle. Though the song barely cracks the two-minute mark, Smiley’s performance gives it replay value.
Smiley may not have announced any concrete plans for 2023, but it’s safe to assume “Nicky Nine Door” is the first of many new songs the Toronto rapper is gearing up to release this year.
The “Over The Top” rapper also appeared on Killy’s “Vince Carter” from his most recent EP Crazy Life of Sin.
Smiley also has a big fan in Ice Spice.
