Everything is falling in Perth RedStar’s favour this season as the reigning NPL WA Women’s champions set their eyes on back-to-back titles.

The RedStar women put seven unanswered goals past Subiaco AFC at the weekend, while their closest challenger Fremantle City FC went down 5-3 to Hyundai NTC.
The win was about as dominant as you will see at State league level, the first goal coming after nine minutes and the rest ticking in at steady intervals after that.
“It was a bit random at the start, we were still trying to find our shape and how to play out from the back,” RedStar defender Andreia Teixeira told club media after the game.
“Once we got it, everything just got into motion.”
Reina Kagami bagged a hat trick to lead the golden boot race this season with 14, two clear of Balcatta Etna’s Tia Stonehill and Murdoch Uni Melville’s Samantha Mathers.
RedStar have grown into a dominant force in WA women’s football, finishing last season unbeaten in claiming the league championship, night series, State Cup and Top Four cup.
They were pipped by Perth SC in the Night Series at the start of this year, but have lost just the one game from 13 so far in the NPL WA competition.
With eight games remaining, it’s going to take a big effort for rivals to knock them off their perch again.
