NBA Finals MVP Stephen Curry was back in the spotlight as the host of the ESPYs sports awards show. He traded in his blue and gold Warriors uniform for a tailored soft green lounge suit and even sang for a bit. This is not the Steph Curry Dubs fans know and love but some of it was pretty funny.
The night started out with a jab at LeBron James.
“I’m the second NBA player to host this award show. LeBron James hosted this show back in 2007 after losing the NBA Finals. So yes, you guessed it … yes, this feels better.”

And in usual Steph fashion, he talks about his family life, but also pokes fun of Tom Brady.
“After celebrating 3 kids birthdays in two weeks, I finally understand why Tom Brady keeps coming back to work… He’s is the only guy I know who’d rather get hit by Aaron Donald than hang out with a supermodel.”

In a produced segment, Curry tries out joke suggestions from comedian Kevin Hart such as: “I’m your host Stephen Curry: proud husband of Ayesha Curry; proud son of Dell Curry; proud daddy of the Boston Celtics.”

Curry also got teammate Draymond Green and comedian Lil Rel Howery into the act by calling out The Draymond Green podcast as a distraction.

Late in the show Curry hilariously acknowledged, “We’re in the fourth quarter of the show, which means all the L.A. fans are finally here,” he said. “It also means, all the Miami fans are already gone.”
