On the latest episode of “The King of Mask Singer,” “Snow Flower Shaved Ice” was revealed to be the main vocalist of a project group formed on a recent survival show!
During the July 30 broadcast of the MBC singing competition, eight new contestants set out to challenge the reigning champion for the throne.
In the third match-up of Round 1, “Snow Flower Shaved Ice” and “Parfait” faced off with a duet version of Park Joong Hoon’s “Rain and You.”

Although the celebrity panelists praised Snow Flower Shaved Ice for his unique vocal tone, he ultimately lost the round to his opponent.
The masked singer then remained on stage to perform a sweet cover of Lee Seok Hoon’s “10 Reasons I Love You,” taking off his mask halfway through the song to reveal his identity.
To the audience’s visible delight, Snow Flower Shaved Ice turned out to be none other than Kim Tae Rae, the main vocalist of “Boys Planet” project group ZEROBASEONE.
After sharing that he had only debuted the day before, Kim Tae Rae confessed to having felt nervous about performing alone. He went on to reveal with a laugh that the other ZEROBASEONE members had jokingly told him before the shoot, “If you get eliminated in Round 1, go back to being a trainee.”
Meanwhile, panelist Lim Han Byul—who was one of the vocal masters on “Boys Planet”—revealed that he had recognized Kim Tae Rae’s voice right away.
Finally, when asked about his goals for the future, Kim Tae Rae replied, “The Best New Artist award: they say you only have one opportunity to win that award. So it’s a goal both for our group and for me personally.”
