When asked by commentator Ravi Shastri what India will be doing after winning the toss, a puzzled Rohit could not decide whether he was going to bat or bowl. Eventually, after a thinking for good 15 seconds Rohit told match referee Javagal Srinath and Shastri that India will be bowling first.
Even Rohit’s teammates — the likes of Siraj and Washington Sundar — in the background, looked surprised as the event unfolded.
The funny incident was followed by laughs all around led by New Zealand skipper Tom Latham.

“I forgot what we wanted to do, had plenty of discussions with the team about the toss decision, just wanted to challenge ourselves under difficult conditions, but we’ll bowl first,” said Rohit after the toss.
Both India and New Zealand have gone into the second game unchanged.
India won the nail-biting opener by 12 runs in Hyderabad and lead the 3-match series 1-0.
