Watches And Wonders “Watch Week” Set For April 9 To 15 In Geneva

Watches and Wonders Geneva will be held a little later in the spring next year, from April 9 to the 15, and will open its doors to the public for three of those days, from the 13 to the 15. It will include an evening event in the city on Thursday, April 11, making a party out of Geneva watch week. The first four days are dedicated to the trade and press.

Although the list of brands taking part in the 2024 edition hasn’t been announced yet, the show, formerly called Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie, has evolved to replace the now-defunct Baselworld as the largest and most wide-ranging fair on the watch calendar. Last year, 38 brands exhibited. Rolex, Patek Philippe and Chopard have now joined the traditional pillars formed by Richemont brands Cartier, Piaget, Lange & Söhne, Panerai, and Jaeger-LeCoultre, which together represent the elite of Swiss (and German) watchmaking. Exhibiting alongside them is a roster of independent brands, in the Carré des Horlogers, including Laurent Ferrier, Ferdinand Berthoud, Ressence and Speake-Marin. Several LVMH brands joined the fair two years ago, including TAG Heuer and Hublot, along with Rolex sister brand Tudor. Industry insiders have been anticipating the participation of Breitling and Bulgari, which have not yet joined the Watches and Wonders roster, but neither has officially confirmed participation. It is also hoped that Swatch Group brands, including Omega and Longines, will take part, but the group has not made any announcements to that effect.

The fair includes special watchmaking exhibitions, panel discussions and brand keynote presentations, as well as a daily broadcast called the Morning Show, on which brand executives will give interviews and discuss trends and their new collections. Last year, the “Late Show” offered a summary of the keynotes from the exhibiting brands, held in the auditorium, along with highlights of the exceptional pieces unveiled that day.
