Some of the show’s most familiar faces are back with Kim Campbell (played by Angela Griffin), Donte Charles (Adam Thomas) and Chlo Charles (Katie Griffiths) all making a welcome return. The award-winning BBC series promises lots of drama and huge storylines when it returns in the New Year.
Waterloo Road will be back on screens on Tuesday, January 3.
The much-loved show will get a prime time slot on BBC One at 8pm.
For fans who want to binge-watch, there’s great news, as all seven episodes will be available in full as a boxset on BBC iPlayer.
A first glimpse at episode one will see head teacher Kim having to deal with the fallout of a school riot alongside show favourites Donte and Chlo.

The show will also stick to the familiar themes that continue to make the series popular.
Speaking to Digital Spy, Donte star Adam Thomas promised this new instalment won’t just live up to the older episodes of Waterloo Road but exceed them.
He said: “It’s going to be the best series yet.
“It has been great fun, really good and it’s exciting to get back doing what I love and seeing new and old cast as well.”
