One of the more unusual hacks sees a sick bag turned into a simple – yet effective – phone holder, as another traveler reveals how he takes coconuts to airports to keep hydrated because, unlike water bottles, they won’t get stopped by TSA.

After her flight was delayed by eight hours at Myrtle Beach International Airport, TikToker Renata came across a luggage storage app called Bounce

If you’ve got a long wait for a connecting flight and have time to leave the airport, one of the biggest problems is what to do with your luggage.

However, TikToker Renata reveals in a clip how she stumbled across a cunning solution. 

After her flight was delayed by eight hours at Myrtle Beach International Airport, she started searching for a place to stash her suitcase and she came across an app called Bounce.

She explains that the luggage storage company has a ‘bunch of participating vendors,’ so she was able to sign up to the app and pay to leave her bag at a local UPS store. 

‘This is the coolest thing I’ve found in a while,’ she tells viewers.

While you cannot take bottles of water through airport security, dozens of clips on TikTok reveal a tried and tested hack for bypassing this rule.

Flight attendant Brenda Orelus demonstrates the trick in a video. 

She explains to viewers: ‘Want to get your large liquids through TSA? Simple, freeze them. This will allow them to pass through the TSA check point as a solid.’

Some viewers pointed out that it would be difficult to get the frozen water to the airport without it melting en route.

And one viewer said they preferred taking an empty water bottle with a filter and filling it with water after clearing TSA checks.

But it seems that one TikToker has a slightly more unusual way of getting liquids through airport security.

One viewer said the coconut hack didn’t work for them, and explained: ‘Bro, I tried bringing a coconut back from Florida one time and they stopped me like I had a bomb and took it.’

Other viewers quizzed Paul about how he goes about opening coconuts on the plane when you ‘can’t bring knives or bottle openers.’ 

He revealed that he travels with a metal straw and drinks through that, but didn’t elaborate further.

Well, in a bid to remedy that problem, TikToker Maiifinds reveals an ingenious way to make a simple yet effective phone holder using a sick bag. 

In a step by step guide, she instructs viewers to first pop their phone out of the case.

Then, to create the holder, the next step involves laying the sick bag over the case and securing the phone back in.

You then should be able to hold up the sick bag with the phone securely dangling from the end. The sick bag can then be hung from the back of the chair in front by pinning it behind the food tray.

Maiifinds continues: ‘Then, all you do is close the food tray with your new set up and you are ready to watch whatever you want. This is the best hack. It’s so convenient and it’s free.’

Many viewers deemed the hack ‘brilliant’ and ‘cool,’ but some expressed concern around what would happen if you then fell sick and needed to use the bag.

In a bid to avoid checked or excess luggage fees, many TikTokers reveal how they use pillow cases to hide extra items and increase their hand luggage allowance.

They claim that airline staff do not pick up on the money-saving hack. 

In one video, Chelsey Carlson demonstrates how she wore a backpack on her flight with Spirit Airlines as she was only allowed one personal item. 

However, she stuffed a pillow case full with extra clothes and she also wore a large fanny pack under her sweater. 

As the clip was filmed before she boarded her flight, one viewer asked Chelsey if she successfully made it through without getting stopped.
