We don’t change places when India is in a winning situation, says Vishal Kotian

Vishal Kotian is best known for playing the role of Birbal in ‘Har Mushkil Ka Hal Akbar Birbal’ and also ‘Akbar Ka Bal Birbal’. Besides this, he has also done an impressive list of TV serials and a handful of films. The icing on the cake in his career was his participation in the reality show ‘Bigg Boss 15’. Mid Day spoke to the actor cum cricket freak about the ongoing India versus Pakistan match.

Hey Vishal! Do you know where the ongoing India-Pakistan match is being played?
Of course … It is the world famous Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia.

Who is you favourite player and why?
From India, it has to be Suryakumar Yadav as he is a fearless player. He plays 360 degrees from all around the field. And from Pakistan, I like Shahid Afridi for his pace. But, I really hope that he doesn’t bowl well against India!

When was the last time you saw an India-Pakistan match?
I have seen all the India-Pakistan matches, except for the time when I was inside the Bigg Boss’s house.

How did you celebrate India’s win in the match?
I have been a sport host and a cricket fanatic all the time. When India wins, we hug each other and celebrate with sweets. We essentially celebrate CRICKET!

Are you superstitious?
I am not that superstitious, but, my friends are. Once they sit in a particular position, they do not move from that position and neither they let anyone else move or get up. We don’t change place or move around when India is in a winning situation.

What’s the most superstitious thing that you did do that India can win the match?
When India was playing against Sri Lanka, and was in a winning position, it so happened that one of my friends was wanting to go to the washroom. We just did not allow him to go to the washroom and made him sit in one place. He was wanting to relieve himself very badly! That’s the kind of superstition we have about cricket, esp, when India is playing against Pakistan.
