We Finally Know What Selena Gomez’s Mysterious Back Tattoo Looks Like

Well, it seems that all of the endless guesses and speculation surrounding Selena Gomez‘s back tattoo has officially come to a close. Bang Bang Tattoo, the New York City-based tattoo parlor behind the actor and Rare Beauty founder’s back ink, shared another photo of the tattoo to its Instagram grid on December 28. 

Unlike the tattoo’s initial Instagram debut that occurred a mere two weeks ago, this photo provides a colorful, close-up look of what’s on Gomez’s back. A large, bleeding pink rose appears to be sitting below a tattoo consisting of three Roman numerals. Several Instagram users came to the comments section to show their love for the actor’s new tattoo by leaving hearts, heart-eyed faces, and sentiments such as, “I love this omg.” This is a stark contrast to the confused nature of the comment section from the original tattoo reveal post.

Gomez’s bleeding rose photo was followed by an 11-second video showing model Cara Delevingne with a tattoo of a rose as well, except Delevingne’s is on her ribcage. In the caption of the tattoo parlor’s post, they referred to the tattoo as “matching,” which sounds like Gomez and Delevingne decided to get matching tattoos. 

Both Gomez and Delevingne walked away with beautiful, watercolor interpretations of a rose, and, according to the caption accompanying the video of Delevingne’s tattoo, the two roses were the tattoo artist’s first foray into the world of watercolor tattoos.
