A COUPLE got the ultimate revenge after a petty guest had “reserved” sunbeds but didn’t turn up for nine hours.
Thom and Lisa Aspland woke up at the crack of dawn in the hopes of having a spot by their Indonesia resort pool, but instead waited an eternity to get one.

The Aussie holidaymakers found unattended beach towels that had been left on afternoon loungers before 6.30am at the Grand Barong Resort in Bali on Wednesday morning.
Leaving your towel unfurled on a day beds is seen as a sign the lounge is taken, but many resorts ban guests from reserving spaces.
Some resorts only allow guests to reserve their seats for a maximum of one hour without physically being there.
After waiting until 2pm, Thom and Lisa tossed them aside and claimed the seats.
But little did they know the people who had put them there would show up at 3.30pm.
Thom shared their revenge online and said the guests’ reaction was “priceless”.
He wrote: “We woke up this morning [and] noticed towels already placed on the afternoon shade sunbeds.
“We went about our day and eventually arrived at the pool at 1pm to the beds untouched, nobody in sight.
“At 2pm we told pool staff we were moving the towels as nobody had been on them.
“We then waited until 3:30pm for them to eventually arrive and the realisation that their spots are gone, iPads and books in hand was priceless.”
The couple also made sure not to give the seats up when confronted by the guests.
“We literally left and asked others to take them just to keep the pettiness going,” Lisa added.
Followers agreed that leaving towels on seats all day was “sun hogging” and disrespectful, with many of them sharing their own experience.
One wrote: “Proof that not all heroes wear a cape. Would shout you both a Bintang beer if I were there.”
“Am I the only one hoping there’s a day two to this situation,” another replied.
A third added: “I would’ve done the same except I wouldn’t have waited – if they weren’t there using them its free for all.”
The next day, Thom shared an update to their sunbed saga saying the empty poolside area was a sign of victory.
He wrote: “Free all morning.”
The couple was commended by online users for not immediately ditching the towels, saying that some time needed to be afforded for owners who might’ve been swimming.
Each summer, hotels become the sites of frantic battles, as guests try to reserve the best loungers with their towels first thing in the morning.
Viewers have been left in stitches after a video showing Brits vying for their spot in the sun went viral.
TikTok clips showed the eager sunbather’s antics which began at 7:30am at a resort in Greece.
A line of vacationers could be seen waiting by the pool entrance with their towels clutched tightly, as the pool man finished prepping the area.
