We were wearing seatbelts: Vaibhavi Upadhyaya’s fiancé DISMISSES netizens’ claims post accident

On May 24, Vaibhavi Upadhyaya passed away after a tragic accident. Reportedly, Vaibhavi and her partner Jay Gandhi were on holiday in Himachal Pradesh and they met with an accident after being hit by a truck. However, it was said that the car was standing still and after the hit, the car fell into the valley. Now, her fiancé Jay Gandhi broke his silence for the first time post Vaibhavi Upadhyaya’s death.

Vaibhavi fiancé on people’s assumptions

Jay told ETimes, “There is a notion that you speed on road trips, but that was not the case. Our car was standing still and waiting for the truck to pass. I am not in a state to talk much, but I wanted to ensure that people don’t assume that we were not wearing seat belts or were speeding.”

For the unversed, Vaibhavi and Jay were planning to get married this December.

Vaibhavi Upadhyaya’s brother supported his statement:

Her brother Ankit Upadhyaya reacted to Jay’s statement and added, “She was always cautious and would never sit in a car without a seat belt. So, on a road trip, she would be extra cautious. The doctors also confirmed how there were seat belt marks around her neck. It is sad that we were thinking of planning her marriage, but now she is gone.”

After the tragic incident, Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai creator JD Majethia announced the news of her passing on his Twitter. He wrote, “Life is so unpredictable. A very fine actress, dear friend Vaibhavi Upadhyay popularly known as Jasmine of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai passed away. She met with an accident in north. Family will bring her to Mumbai tomorrow morning around 11 am for last rites . RIP vaibhavi .”
