Netflix has revealed a first look at Tim Burton’s new Addams Family series, Wednesday featuring Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán transform into Morticia and Gomez Addams in the first look photo. Jenna Ortega will portray the eponymous Wednesday, while Isaac Ordonez will portray her brother Pugsley.

Vanity Fair shared an exclusive first look at the Addams brood in all their gothic glory. Filmmaker Tim Burton will direct four of the eight episodes, as well as executive produce the comedy horror series from creators Miles Millar and Alfred Gough (Smallville). As noted by Entertainment Weekly, the series is being described as a young adult series and will feature original Wednesday actress Christina Ricci feature as a brand-new character with details being kept under wraps.
The show is described as a “sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery” series which will follow Wednesday as she navigates life at Nevermore Academy, a boarding school for outcasts. The teen “attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore,” per the synopsis.
Wednesday stars Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams, Garfunkel and Oates’ Riki Lindhome as Dr. Valerie Kinbott; Jamie McShane as Sheriff Donovan Galpin, and Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley, Wednesday’s younger brother. Gwendoline Christie will also appear as a main cast member known as Larissa Weems.
Tim Burton’s new live-action adaptation of the Addams Family franchise is set to hit Netflix later in 2022.
