The latest edition to the Wempe Signature Collection is an exclusively designed Chopard Happy Sport Signature timepiece. This is the third model in the exclusive Wempe collection, which was launched in November 2022, and the first women’s watch of the Wempe limited-edition line.
The Wempe Signature Collection consists of collaborations between Wempe and watch companies. Together they produce a limited-edition model of an iconic watch from the watch brand that are only available in Wempe’s watch and jewelry retail stores and Wempe’s online shop.
The Hamburg, Germany-based retailer says it has “accumulated extensive knowledge” about its “customers’ expectations, requirements, and wishes,” and it fulfills these “in cooperation with selected watch brands.”
The new Chopard x Wempe Happy Sport Signature timepiece is available at all Wempe locations worldwide including the company’s flagship U.S. store in the Peninsula New York Hotel on Fifth Avenue.
Both Wempe and Chopard are family-owned companies that have enjoyed a long-term friendly relationship since the early 1990s.
The Chopard x Wempe Happy Sport Signature watch is being produced in honor of the 13th anniversary of the iconic Chopard Happy Sport watch collection. The stainless-steel watch collection is known for having a dial featuring floating (“dancing”) diamonds. This design has proven popular with women all over the world since 1993 when it was launched. Wempe was one of the first major retailers to add the collection to its range of products.
“An icon was born, a new era began, that influenced the entire watch world to this day,” Kim-Eva Wempe said, adding that she also prefers to wear a Happy Sport at parties.
The Wempe Signature Collection x Chopard timepiece is an expression of “exclusive sophistication,” according to the two companies. It has 1990s retro-style appearance with an “ice blue” dial color, sunray brushing, a guilloché-pattern center and a date display. Four white diamonds and three “royal-blue” sapphires “dance” around the dial as it is worn. The dial is housed in a 36mm stainless-steel case. The two companies say this timepiece with its sporty elegance can be worn at work, play and for formal occasions. The watch is powered by an automatic movement with a 42-hour power reserve.
“For decades we have been in direct contact with numerous watch-interested women both in Germany as well as France, Spain, and the USA,” said Wempe managing partner Kim-Eva Wempe. “We know first where the trends are going and what independent women desire. Even the most demanding among them appreciate the 36-millimeter size and automatic caliber, which is why we chose these features.”
The Happy Sport Signature Collection is limited to 50 pieces. Each piece is numbered by an engraving on the stainless-steel outside of the caseback. The phrase, “Wempe Signature Collection” is printed on the sapphire crystal interior of the caseback.
The watch is now available at all Wempe stores and online.
The previous two signature collection partnerships were with Breitling with the Navitimer B01 Chronograph 43 Signature Collection and Hublot with the Big Bang Chronograph Signature Collection.
