“My mom called me and told me she’s coming to watch the match for Virat Kohli, I couldn’t believe it,” Joshua was heard saying on the stump mike earlier in the ongoing second and final Test match.

Joshua’s mother confirmed her son’s claim and admitted that she was just honoured and thrilled to see Kohli play in her country.

“When Virat Kohli made Hundred, I just stood and clapped because it’s an honour that he scored a hundred in our country. It’s such an emotional moment for me,” Da Silva’s mother said.

“I said to Joshua that I’m just coming to watch only Virat Kohli,” she confirmed Da Silva’s words from the match

“Both me and Joshua are huge fans of Virat Kohli. He’s one of the best ever, we’re blessed to have him in this land. It was a blessing for Joshua to play this Test with Virat,” she further added.

Kohli, who is playing his 500th international match, smashed his 29 Test hundred on Day 2 of the Test match. The hundred was his 76th in international cricket and first outside India since 2018. No player in the history of the game has scored a hundred in his 500th international game. The innings from Kohli (121) helped India post 438 runs in the first innings.
