By opting out of his player option for next season, Draymond Green set himself up to enter free agency this summer.
We’ll have to wait to see what the market is for the longtime Golden State Warriors forward, but one team that was reportedly interested in Green was the Memphis Grizzlies.
NBA insider Marc Stein reported this weekend that Memphis intended to make a run at Green before they acquired Marcus Smart from the Boston Celtics in a trade last week.
Grizzlies had strong interest in Draymond and were planning to pursue him before trading for Marcus Smart, per @TheSteinLine

Stein is one of the most reliable NBA reporters, so we have no reason to doubt his intel here. It would have been interesting to see Draymond in Memphis considering the rivalry between the Grizzlies and Warriors that developed over the last two seasons.
Other teams that have been mentioned in conjunction with Green include the Los Angeles Lakers (he’s close with LeBron) and Sacramento Kings.
Golden State is also interested in retaining the four-time All-Star, though they’ll have to wait for him to test the open market first.
