Rush’s Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson are among the star-studded collection of musicians slated to perform during a pair of tribute concerts for former Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins next month.

And while the prog rockers haven’t exactly been, well, living in the limelight lately — the band has been on hiatus for the past few years, punctuated by the death of drummer Neil Peart in 2020 — Lee and Lifeson have quietly been working away.
The Toronto twosome made a surprise appearance at the South Park 25th anniversary concert in Colorado earlier this month, performing Closer to the Heart alongside Primus and South Park co-creator Matt Stone on the skins. That outing marked the first time the pair had played Rush music together on stage in more than seven years.
And they were hanging out with some good company in Toronto earlier this week. Renowned drummer Omar Hakim posted a photo to Instagram of himself alongside Lee, Lifeson and Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl.
