Arsenal return to the Emirates tonight to face Southampton, with The Gunners looking to regain vital momentum in the Premier League title race.

Two bruising away days against Liverpool and West Ham saw Mikel Arteta’s men surrender a pair of 2-0 leads to bring Manchester City within four points along with their game in hand.

A return to winning ways this evening is almost a necessity, given the rivals clash in their titanic title showdown in Manchester next Wednesday.

Southampton, meanwhile, are rooted to the foot of the Premier League table, four points from safety, with just seven matches left of the campaign.

Team news

Arsenal will be desperate for the return of Oleksandr Zinchenko, who sat out the draw with West Ham last weekend with a groin complaint.

The influential Ukrainian has since returned to training but Arteta is unsure if Zinchenko will be passed fit to play any part later tonight.

William Saliba is definitely ruled out, however, with Arteta suggesting the Frenchman is still someway off a return to fitness.

Mohamed Elneny and Takehiro Tomiyasu remain in the treatment room and will not play again this season.

The Saints will be without the injured duo of Che Adams and Mohammed Salisu, whilst Ainsley Mailtand-Niles is unavailable to face his parent club.
