What do we even call this style of fringe Bella Hadid just debuted?

We’re well-versed when it comes to fringes, whether it’s a blunt fringe, side-swept fringe, baby bangs, curtain bangs or a curly fringe. But Bella Hadid just stumped us with her new fringe.

Bella posted a photo to Instagram in which she appears to be on set for a Marc Jacobs shoot, wearing an absolutely epic pair of white Mary Jane platforms, black glasses, and a gray cut-out turtleneck. However, despite this delightful fashion moment, our eyes immediately leapt to Bella’s forehead and our index finger leapt to our own heads for a good scratching. What exactly are these bangs we’re looking at?

Most of Hadid’s hair appears to be slicked down in a straight, shiny style, but the fringe up front is a bold choice: short, piece-y, possibly gelled, and showing more forehead than hair.

It’s giving Velma from Scooby Doo vibes, mixed with Edward Scissorhands and Wednesday Addams.

I asked my fellow editors what they would call it and got the following responses:

“Spider bangs?”

“Itsy-bitsy spider bangs.”

“Spider micro bangs.”

“It’s giving wide-tooth comb.”

“Bushwick.”

“Divorced.”

OK, so, we can thank Bella Hadid for starting 2023’s biggest hair trend: divorced Bushwick wide-tooth comb spider micro bangs. Don’t forget to use the hashtag #divorcedbushwickwidetoothcombspidermicrobangs if you get the cut!
