The latest installment of the Steph Curry-LeBron James saga begins tonight at 10 p.m. ET.
While James and Curry have faced off in the NBA Finals on four occasions and definitely have a rivalry between them, there’s also a healthy amount of respect between the two.
Leading up to Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals tonight, LeBron said he has the “utmost respect” for his Golden State Warriors counterpart.
“[Curry] puts in the work,” James said, via ESPN’s Dave McMenamin. “And when you put in the work, nine times out of 10 you’re going to see the results. And he’s done that throughout his whole, entire career. I have nothing but the utmost respect for Steph and everything he’s been able to accomplish, not only on the floor but also off the floor, too. It’s just great to have people like that in this league to set an example for the generation to come.”
New story: “Just two of the most competitive players that have ever played this game.” That’s how LeBron James described him and Stephen Curry ahead of the Lakers-Warriors 2nd Rd showdown – which will be the 6th postseason battle between the two stars https://t.co/8TOIhCt9CO

Curry, meanwhile, averaged 33.7 points in the Warriors’ first-round series against the Sacramento Kings, capped off by his 50-point outburst in Game 7.
Lakers-Warriors Game 1 will tip off at 10 p.m. ET on TNT.
