Bookmakers have underestimated Freo this season, according to our Hard Ball Gets crew in the return of the popular footy podcast for 2023.
Xavier Ellis, Ryan Daniels and Nick Rynne took to the airwaves on Monday for a fresh season of AFL analysis, news and laughs.
And in their annual overs/unders edition, where they look at bookies’ lines for each club’s win total and predict whether it will be above or below the mark, the Dockers were a club that stood out strongly.
Fremantle’s season win mark is 12.5 victories, despite the Dockers winning 15 games last season – and having an extra game in the 23-match slate this year.
“I’m locking (in) the overs so hard,” Daniels said, before explaining why he’s not worried about the loss of Rory Lobb in Freo’s new-look forward line.
While the trio were all in agreement on taking the ‘overs’ for Freo, they were similarly as collectively confident in backing the ‘unders’ for West Coast amid the Eagles’ win line of 8.5 for the year.
