The Palm Tree Crew is bringing its first tropical-themed Palm Tree Festival to Doheny State Beach in Dana Point on Saturday, May 13.
The single-day fest, which will also take place in Hamptons, New York in June, was created by Norwegian DJ Kygo and his manager Myles Shear. The name of the festival comes from the pair gifting each other and their closest friends necklaces with palm trees on them as a symbol of community.
Here’s what you need to know about the Palm Tree Festival.

Various versions of the festival have taken place in Bali, Australia and Croatia over the years, but it’s Southern California debut boasts some big-name talent with Kygo leading the festivities along with sets by co-headliner Ellie Goulding, who just appeared at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio last month as a surprise guest during Calvin Harris’ closing-set, Tove Lo, The Midnight, The Knocks, Two Feet and Forester.
Doors open at 12:30 p.m. and things kick off with Los Angeles-based electronic duo Forester performing from 1-1:30 p.m.
