Carlos Ancelotti never regarded the Belgian star in his plans and after four dreadful years, the challenging decision was made. But his transfer to Real Madrid in 2019 appeared to be a deal that would benefit all sides.
He agreed to the Bernabeu move for a huge cost that may have reached £150m after winning almost everything in west London with Chelsea with two Premier League trophies, two Europa Leagues, and other domestic cups.
With much hype, Hazard left English football as one of the greatest players in current Premier League history. However, his time in the Spanish capital has been nothing short of horrid- with unrelenting injuries, poor training, and a lack of fitness.
All of these caused a rift between manager Zinedine Zidane and current coach Carlo Ancelotti. He won eight trophies in the meanwhile but with only four goals in four league seasons, Los Blancos ultimately made the decision to cut their losses and ended his contract before fulfilling his initial five-year deal.
Where could Hazard play next season?
His future is still up in the air and there are even rumours that the Belgian great could hang up his boots. However, it is believed that several sides are still interested in his service. Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal is reportedly one of the clubs interested in Eden Hazard.
Hazard is unlikely to attract a similar fee to Ronaldo or Benzema however he could be offered a chance to enjoy his football again. Turkey could be another place for him to revive his career where many Premier League players recently moved. However, nothing is finalized yet and all are still in rumour mills.
