The new function does not yet have a release date, although it will be available before in the beta version of the application
WhatsApp continues to be involved in the process of renewing and updating its application. A whole process of changes that brings a new novelty that users have already been claiming. Still without a release date, the instant messaging application will allow you to edit the messages once they have been sent, both in the iOS, Android and desktop versions.
It is a function that, as the specialized portal WaBetaIfo has advanced, does not yet have a release date, although it will first reach users who are members of the beta program. According to images that the portal has shared to announce this new novelty, which come from a beta version of the application for devices with the Google operating system, WhatsApp will add a new option called ‘Edit’ (edit, in Spanish) that will appear when the user hold their finger on a message they have sent to another contact.
At the moment it is also unknown if the user will have a limited time to edit the messages, although what does happen is that “probably” there will not be a history of the edits made.
It should be remembered that WhatsApp was reluctant to introduce changes to messages for a long period of time. Moreover, it was not until a few months ago that the social network introduced the possibility of deleting, within ten minutes, the message already sent. A function that even so, is not configured as in other applications with similar characteristics. In this case, the receiver of the message receives a notification that a message has been deleted.
This function would come to the application shortly after the emoji reactions to messages were implemented or after the announcement that the social network will launch ‘Communities’, a new space in which it will allow users to bring together different groups in the same structure, maintaining a division according to the needs of each case
