Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury shared a picture to pay tribute to Rajiv Gandhi on his death anniversary, but later deleted the tweet and clarified it.

Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on Saturday posted a picture on his Twitter handle remembering former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi on his death anniversary. Chowdhury, however, deleted the tweet later.
The picture that Chowdhury tweeted has a quoted that read, “when a big tree falls, ground shakes”.

Chowdhury pulled down the picture and later in a tweet, he clarified that his previous tweet has nothing to do with his own observation.
“The tweet against my name has nothing to do with my own observation,” tweeted Chowdhury.

Chowdhury, in a series of tweet called it a malicious campaign and propaganda against him. “A malicious campaign is propagated by those forces inimical to me”, said Chowdhury.
The former prime minister was assassinated in 1991 by terrorist organisation Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) in Tamil Nadu during an election campaign.
