When are 2023-24 Championship fixtures announced and when does season start?

Leeds, Leicester and Southampton failed to beat the drop and will now be competing in the Championship next season… but when are the 2023-24 fixtures announced and when does it start?

  • Leeds, Leicester and Southampton will all play Championship football next year
  • The three teams were relegated following the last game of the season yesterday
  • 23 of the 24 teams in the Championship next season have been confirmed so far

The final games of the 2022-23 Premier League season took place today, with Leicester, Leeds and Southampton all failing to beat the drop as the three sides will now be looking ahead to the new Championship season.

This season’s Championship was won by Vincent Kompany’s Burnley. The side sealed promotion back in April following their 2-1 win against Middlesbrough and would go on to win the division.

Southampton were relegated three weeks ago following their defeat at home to Marco Silva’s Fulham.

Following Everton’s 1-0 win at home to Bournemouth yesterday, the victory was enough to keep them in the division. Despite winning on the final day against West Ham, Leicester will be playing Championship football next season. The Foxes will also be joined by Leeds, who were thumped 4-1 at home to Tottenham Hotspur.

With the new season set to get underway in under three months, when will the Championship fixtures be released and when will the season start? Mail Sport provides the answers below.
