Formula 1 Grand Prix is returning to Miami for the second year from May 5 to 7, 2023 at the Hard Rock Stadium. Ahead of the race, organizers had announced investments towards a brand-new 190,000 square foot Paddock Club building— that will house over 6,000 guests in its private suites— and the creation of the Formula 1 Team Village on the football field.

Asides from the race, the action-packed affair will have live performances, and of course, plenty of food and beverage options. Over 65 restaurants and hospitality experiences will be at the Campus of the Miami International Autodrome, serving a variety of cuisines, most of them homegrown— an opportunity for visitors to experience local Miami flavors and culture.

James Beard Award-winning chef Michelle Bernstein returns this year to showcase her modern take on Latin American cuisine at both the Yacht Club and MIA Marina general admission areas. “We are serving a true array of dishes ranging from foods great for sharing like carrot hummus with a spring vegetable crudite; to that perfect bite when you’re busy watching or walking around like fried chicken and pickled watermelon sliders; or sitting back in the Marina with your friends like the just-caught Snapper with mojo de ajo,” Bernstein tells Forbes. “There is something for everyone. We try and serve as local as we can when it comes to vegetables and seafood with some luxurious touches for those that desire a more upscale experience.” In addition to having wagyu sandwiches and shrimp aguachile tostadas on the menu, she adds that they will be shucking oysters to be served across all their on-site venues and grilling up Proper Sausages with local ingredients.

James Beard-nominated chef Brad Kilgore, who now helms MaryGold’s Florida Brasserie, will be serving progressive American cuisine which will highlight local Florida ingredients in the 1 North Suites. Smoked chicken thigh quesadillas with Oaxaca cheese and ancho-chili aioli; ropa vieja sliders with pickled peppers and smoked gouda; and short rib vaca frita with a sweet soy molasses glaze and sweet potato-aji amarillo puree are some of the dishes that guests can expect. “I am so excited to create these recipes for Formula 1 this year,” Kilgore tells Forbes. “Since many of the clients will be from Miami and hosting others or just coming in town for this special event we wanted to showcase south Florida and Miami-inspired dishes and ingredients.” He adds that his particular favorite is the vaca frita. “I have been working and playing around with this classic Cuban dish for a while now.”

At the Start/Finish Suites, chef Lorena Garcia, known for her TV roles on “Top Chef Masters” and “America’s Next Great Restaurant,” will be serving dishes that celebrate Central and South America, from her restaurant, Chica. Dishes to look forward to include Chica guacamole, Nikkei tuna tartare, shrimp cocktail “vuelve a la vida” served with mezcal baja sauce, baby back ribs al pastor, to name a few.

“I created this menu in order to showcase the wonderful flavors of Chica,” Garcia tells Forbes. “My food, like Miami, is a melting pot of Latin cultures and this menu represents exactly that. I have included items that are light and refreshing as well as some of Chica’s crowd pleasers. One thing is for sure, they will all be packed with plenty of flavor and sazon!”

Formula 1 Global Partner Ferrari Trento will activate a custom sparkling wine bar in the North Campus. Visitors will be able to enjoy Ferrari brut and rosé sparkling wines in all of the hospitality areas around the track, including the premium clubs. Towards the Paddock Club, they will also have the opportunity to create their own winning moments with selfies and photos on a replica podium stand holding an exact replica of the Ferrari sparkling wine sprayed by winning F1 drivers.

“We’re pleased that Ferrari Trento is the official sparkling wine of Formula 1 and featured at its iconic Grands Prix around the world,” Matteo Lunelli, President and CEO of Ferrari Trento winery shares with Forbes. “We’re especially excited to be back in Miami. Last year about 30,000 bottles of Ferrari Trentodoc were enjoyed by over 200,000 fans and wine lovers at the Hard Rock and throughout the Miami area. We anticipate even more this year. It’s going to be a sparkling weekend.” Not only will the champions be celebrating on the podium with a Ferrari Jeroboam (3L bottle); Ferrari will also be poured at the official after party at Zuma Miami after the final race on May 7.

At the Paddock Club, Cincoro Tequila will be hosting tastings with Petrossian Caviar, while their specialty cocktails will be available at The Palms Club.

Located at Turns 1 and 2, the climate-controlled Casa Tua Trackside Club provides guests with a shaded, open-air viewing deck where they can enjoy an up-close view of drivers, while enjoying Casa Tua’s fresh salads and pastas, and their own limited edition mezcal, Akul. The trackside lounge is also positioned at pit exit, offering front row view of cars exiting the pit lane and re-entering the circuit.

Casa Florida, deeply rooted in Miami’s history and culture with the oldest recorded hotel license in Miami, dating back to 1898 will be serving their signature rolls— lobster, Cuban, mushroom avocado and shrimp—made with bread from Oori Bakeshop by Korean-American entrepreneur, Helen Kim.

Harry’s Pizzeria, by James Beard Award-winning executive chef Michael Schwartz, will serve an assortment of their pizzas (classic cheese, pepperoni, mushroom truffle), chopped salads and their oven-roasted chicken wings, to name a few.

David Grutman’s Groot Hospitality will serve an array of their restaurants’ signature menu items at 72 Club, and Major Food Group will provide food, beverage and hospitality for the Palm Club.

Other locally owned restaurants in participation include: Café Versailles, Bodega Taqueria y Tequila, Pubbelly Sushi, Cantina La Veinte, Dōma, Tacology and Dos Croquetas.

Fourteen homegrown Florida-based food trucks, caterers and small businesses will also be serving their specialties, supported by the team at Sodexo Live!, the Campus’ hospitality partner. They include: Adam’s Catering, Drinks On Me 305, Food Junkies on Wheels, Italian Vice, La Vela Coffee Roasters, Lovely’s, Tasebudz, Reggae Beets, SDC Treats, SEED, Soulfly Chicken, Ten’s Kitchen, Troy’s Barbeque and We Shuckin Eatery.
