Why Aria Resort & Casino Is One Of The Best Hotels For Food In Las Vegas

0

What’s your reason for visiting Las Vegas? Is it to bet big, and hopefully win even bigger? Maybe it’s the thrilling nightlife and entertainment that’s calling your name. Or is it the mind-boggling range of shopping options, from outlets to bold-faced luxury boutiques?

As for me, I come squarely for the food. That’s because few other places in the world pack such a high concentration of can’t-miss restaurants, bars, and other pleasures like posh accommodations in one easy location. And if you’re someone like me who prefers to plant yourself at one hotel, instead of hopping around, you should look into staying at Aria Resort & Casino. Here’s why.

A food hall with diverse, affordable eats

Proper Eats Food Hall, which opened late last year and replaced the buffet, is the quintessential urban food hall: it’s convenient, truly diverse, and for the most part, easy on the wallet.

And for those achey, dragging mornings following rambunctious late nights, Egghead has you covered with four belly-busting breakfast sandwiches named after iconic New York neighborhoods. Consider the Soho, a fancy riff on the beloved bodega B.E.C. (bacon, egg, cheese) sandwich, where the hard roll is swapped out out with squishy potato-brioche bread, and the eggs are creamy and custardy from a gentle scramble.

Other solid picks in Proper Eats include Temaki Bar, a casual counter where hand rolls—the yellowtail with yuzu kosho and tenkasu is especially craveable—are made fresh to order, Seoul Bird’s double-fried Korean-style chicken sandwiches, and Easy Donuts & Coffee—where coffee and donuts are doled out front during the day, and at night, a velvet rope leads the way to a swanky speakeasy with live music.

A gorgeous restaurant with refined Mediterranean fare

Cathédrale, a new restaurant by Tao Group Hospitality hasn’t even been open for two months, yet it’s one of the most booked tables in town. The decor by Rockwell Group is unabashedly dramatic and opulent, and anchored by a showstopping ceiling canopy by Willowlamp dripping with 25 miles of chain. As for the menu, expect classic French and Mediterranean fare, such as grilled baby artichokes, tomato provençal, and branzino with preserved lemon. But since you’re in Las Vegas, expect some theatrical flair: the salt baked sea bass is prepared tableside, while the crêpes suzette get flambéed right in front of your eyes.

The best soup dumplings in Las Vegas

I’m generally not a fan of global restaurant chains, but Din Tai Fung, the Taiwanese-based dim sum spot reknowned for its xiao long bao (hot soup dumplings) meticulously hand-folded with 18 pleats, is in a league of its own. (You can watch the talented chefs work their magic behind a window at the entrance.) Your best bet? Start with the refreshing cucumber salad to whet your appetite, then order a bunch of items—which arrive piping hot as soon they’re ready—to taste a bit of everything. Then, order more of what you love.

Stunning, Recently Renovated Sky Suites

After a sweeping renovation that was unveiled last year, Aria’s legendary Sky Suites are dreamier than ever and where you’ll want to unwind after all the eating and drinking.

Under the creative leadership of Rottet Studio, the 420 one- and two-bedroom suites offer up a more open and residential feel with neutral tones, clean lines, and modern-day comforts galore—imagine tablets that control lighting to room temperature with a single touch, a well-curated book collection, and ample seating beckoning you to unwind. Even the bathrooms that are kitted out with granite dual-sink vanities, televisions, and deep jacuzzi tubs, impress. What’s remained the same are the expansive bird’s-eye views of Las Vegas and other thoughtful perks including a private pool and complimentary airport transfers.
