Perth Wildcats captain Jesse Wagstaff can accept a one-match suspension for the screen which concussed Melbourne United’s Lachie Barker on Friday or take the case to the NBL Tribunal and risk being banned for two games.

The NBL Game Review Panel has charged Wagstaff with unduly rough play and classified the offence as careless conduct with high contact and high impact.

Wagstaff was given an opportunity to submit information to the GRP before they announced the classification of the offence.

He now has until 3pm on Wednesday to make a decision on whether to accept the suspension of fight the charge.

If he accepts the ban, he will miss Saturday’s game against Tasmania JackJumpers. But if he challenges and loses, he will also miss the game against South East Melbourne Phoenix next week.

Barker took no further part in the game and has been ruled out for two matches as part of his recovery.
