Get ready for authentic xiao long bao, Brentwood.
Dumpling Hours, the wildly popular Walnut Creek restaurant known for handmade steamed, boiled and pan-fried dumplings, opens its second location today inside The Streets of Brentwood shopping center at 2505 Sand Creek Road, Suite 112. Dumpling Hours will be open for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and dinner from 5 to 9 p.m. daily. The restaurant also offers online ordering via its website, www.dumplinghours.com, for pick-up.
Dumplings Hours is part of a wave of new restaurants, mostly chains, to hit Brentwood in the past few months. But Dumpling Hours is only the second location for the Bay Area-based restaurateur. The Walnut Creek location has been packed inside-and-out since it opened last August on North Main Street. Since reservations are not accepted, insiders know to arrive early to snag a table.
Now, East County dumpling aficionados can experience the restaurant’s bevy of dumplings, which are made to order (not frozen) and filled with everything from crab and spicy pork to shrimp, vegetables, chicken and black truffle. The Brentwood menu features a total of 18 steamed dumplings, five boiled won-ton style dumplings, six pan-fried dumplings and three soups.
Also worth checking out on the menu: Dan dan sesame paste dry noodles, spicy pig ears and cucumbers in chile sauce and crispy Brussels sprouts with truffle salt.
