Simona Halep reached the quarter-final of a Grand Slam for the first time since the Australian Open in 2021 as the 2-time Grand Slam champion came up with a spotless display in the women’s singles fourth round at Wimbledon 2022 on Monday, July 5.
Simona Halep, 2019 champion at the grass-court Grand Slam, knocked out World No. 4 Paula Badosa 6-1, 6-2 in quick time. Halep enjoyed her return to the Centre Court as she dominated the 4th seed and sent a warning notice to the rest of the field.
