A Terrifying Premise for The Beloved Teddy Bear

Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey is set to ruin childhood with the horrifying premise for the beloved fictional teddy bear. The film marks as Rhys Frake-Waterfield’s directorial debut and will star Amber Doig-Thorne, Craig David Dowsett, Maria Taylor, Natasha Rose Mills and Nikolai Leon. The film will have its theatricial release on February 15.

Winnie the Pooh was originally created by author A. A. Milne with the illustration of E. H. Shepard. The beloved character has always been special among children. The rights to the character was then acquired by Disney in 1961 which includes licensing rights to its name and likelihood.

After decades of solely having the rights for the beloved teddy bear, Disney’s exclusive control over Winnie the Pooh expired last January 2022. Since the character has now become a public domain, writer and director Rhys Waterfield grabbed the opportunity to make a slasher film based on the character.

The official synopsis reads: “The days of adventures and merriment have come to an end, as Christopher Robin, now a young man, has left Winnie-The-Pooh and Piglet to fend for themselves. As time passes, feeling angry and abandoned, the two become feral. After getting a taste for blood, Winnie-The-Pooh and Piglet set off to find a new source of food. It’s not long before their bloody rampage begins.”
