Witchfire gets the DLSS 3 treatment and a new RTX gameplay trailer

The Astronauts, a Polish developer that previously worked on The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, revealed that its upcoming game Witchfire will be supported by Nvidia’s DLSS 3 technology. This means that players will enjoy Witchfire with some of the most advanced performance settings available.

According to the official NVIDIA website, DLSS 3 takes advantage of “AI and GeForce RTX Tensor Cores to boost frame rates while maintaining great image quality.” For players looking to make the most out of Witchfire from a graphical and performance standpoint, this will come as fantastic news. And players can see these advanced settings in action thanks to the recently uploaded GeForce RTX trailer for Witchfire.

Astronauts Creative Director and Co-Founder Adrian Chmielarz sang DLSS3’s praises in a recent press release, saying it “allows the seemingly impossible.” He brought up the relatable dilemma of players using the highest graphical settings possible only to have to lower them so that the game can run smoothly. With DLSS 3, he noted, players do not have to perform this balancing act, which is ideal for a game like Witchfire that emphasizes “both action and beauty.”

What to expect in Witchfire

If you wish to learn more about Witchfire specifically, it functions as a rogue-lite shooter that boasts open-ended level designs. Its story sees witches and the Church engaging in a war with one another in a gritty fantasy world. You control a Church-enlisted witch hunter who can make use of both firearms and forbidden magic to fight foes. You can expect to play Witchfire once it hopefully drops this year on Early Access.

As you watch the trailer below and wait for the release of Witchfire, you can look forward to a number of other games that will boast DLSS 3 support upon release, including developer Mundfish’s upcoming game Atomic Heart. Keep in mind that you can only take advantage of DLSS 3 using the NVIDIA Series 40 graphics cards, including the 4080, 4090, and the newly revealed 4070 Ti.
