As the fight for chartered flights continues in the WNBA, one team in particular had a hellish 13-hour travel day to make it out west,
Per the Associated Press, it took the New York Liberty more than half the day to make it from Connecticut to Las Vegas and the team was forced to take bus rides and several connecting commercial flights.

“I don’t think we’re asking anything crazy,” Breanna Stewart said of wanting more chartered flights. “We want to continue to be our best, and realizing that all the prehab and rehab and lifting and stuff we do for our bodies is just as equally important as the way that we travel and the ability to stretch our legs.”
The AP followed the Liberty on their cross-country trek from Mohegan Sun Arena to Michelob ULTRA Arena, where the team attempted to cram into economy-plus and comfort seats.
But with New York’s taller players being 6-foot-6 and up, it’s hard to fly comfortably in those sections. And while the WNBA’s athletes are free to attempt to upgrade to first class, they’re out of luck if the flight is full.
