A TRAVELLER has revealed the important items she never flies without when travelling long-haul.
Sabryna Salmon has lots of experience of flying and has put together a list of things that make her journeys more bearable in a video on Tiktok.
Included in that list is a pair of flight socks that make flying both safer and more comfortable.
The pair Sabryna uses are toeless, meaning you can wear them on a flight with sandals of flip flops.
They won’t break the bank either – the socks start from just £8.99 on Amazon.
The socks come with a mesh laundry bag to allow users to wash their compression socks without damage.
Experts swear by compression socks to prevent deep vein thrombosis (DVT) a serious medical condition.
It occurs when you get a blood clot (a sticky mass of blood cells) in a vein that is deep below the skin.
It is a common occurrence when people remain inactive, especially during long-haul flights.
The science behind the socks is quite simple – by applying gentle pressure to the muscles in the lower legs, they can increase blood flow and in turn reduce the chances of getting deep vein thrombosis.

Other Tiktok users were impressed with Sabryna’s sock advice, including a flight attendant, who said they were a must.
They said: “As a flight attendant, the compression socks for travel are a must! Toeless are even better!”
Another person agreed, saying: “I took the flight San Francisco -Singapore and slept 14h and ended up with a thrombosis… guys wear the socks.”
On Amazon, the socks have an overall rating of 4/5 stars from more than 90 reviews.
One reviewer wrote: “Very comfortable you forget your wearing them.”
Another said: “Used as ‘flight socks’ by my husband who has been on long term chemotherapy and has slightly oedematous legs.
“Excellent fit and gave good support whilst also comfortable & easy to put on.”

Wearing tight clothes on planes can increase your chances of getting DVT.
Your choice of seat can affect whether or not you feel unwell during a flight.
