Why is the woman suing L’Oreal USA?

Jenny Mitchell contracted uterine cancer supposedly after using chemical hair straightening products sold by the company.

In the civil lawsuit, Mitchell stated that has been using the product for over 20 years. She found out she had uterine cancer and had to undergo a full hysterectomy.

Mitchelle is seeking damages from L’Oreal USA, the French cosmetics company and others.

Her lawyer stated that Mitchell’s case is one of countless in which companies ‘aggressively misled black women to increase their profits’.
