A virtual court hearing in Michigan seemed like a scene from the TV show “Judge Judy.”
A woman suing a man who stood her up on a date in Flint, Mich., went on a rant in front of a judge during a recent court hearing over Zoom, Fox 2 Detroit reported.
QaShontae Short is suing Richard Jordan for “emotional distress” after he failed to show up for a date in 2020, which fell on her late-mother’s birthday.
The two appeared in court before Judge Herman Marable Jr. during a 10-minute virtual hearing.
The judge asked Jordan if he would be representing himself in the case.
“To be honest with you sir, I thought this was going to get thrown out. We went on one date — one date — and now I’m being sued for $10,000. I don’t think this is going to go any further and I think it’s a waste of your time,” Jordan said.

But things got heated when Short started arguing with the judge.
“If he responds and his response is a lie, then it’s perjury, and my documents would prove it’s a lie,” Short said.
When the judge questioned her regarding her knowledge of perjury, Short told the judge, “Please do not insult my intelligence. Do not do that. Do not insult my intelligence, as if I don’t understand what ‘perjury’ means.”
The two disagreed and she repeatedly shouts, “Are we done here?” during their heated exchange.
The hearing ended with the judge telling Short her claim should be handled in a circuit court instead and ordering the case be moved.
