SINGAPORE – A 33-year-old woman was taken to hospital after a car went up in flames on the Central Expressway (CTE) towards the Seletar Expressway (SLE) on Tuesday (Nov 2) afternoon.

The police said they were alerted to an accident involving a car at around 5.05pm.

The female driver was conscious when she was taken to hospital.

In multiple videos circulating online, a black Honda Fit is seen engulfed in flames in the leftmost lane of the tunnel.

The car was angled to the left, its front appearing to have rammed into the side of the tunnel.

Motorists and emergency service vehicles were also seen waiting outside as black smoke poured out of the tunnel.

Police investigations are ongoing.
