Mrs Hinch – real name Sophie Hinchliffe – rose to fame after she started sharing cleaning tips and tricks online. Now, fans of the cleaning sensation regularly share their own methods with one another on dedicated social media pages.

Majella O Rourke said: “Are there any air vents in the doors or windows. It sounds like the rooms not ventilated very well.”

Kate Campbell commented: “Leave the windows open every day for a few hours and you should have no mould or mildew.”

This is because air circulation helps to prevent moisture building up, which results in mould.

Others suggested investing in a humidifier to help.

Kiah Faye commented: “Air circulation works wonders.”

Lily Campbell wrote: “You need to make sure the windows or doors are open for a bit each day, especially if it is a small room.

“Also make sure she isn’t hanging her washing in the bedroom as this can cause moisture which will result in damp and mould.”

Alison Tongal explained: “The problem here is circulation, if there is too much moisture in the air then the windows will condensate every day.

“A good trick is to leave the windows open for a couple of hours each day. It’s winter now so maybe leave them open when your daughter is not in the room, it’ll be beneficial for everything.”

Experts warn that frequently drying clothes inside the house is not good for health as well as the home.

Some mould and fungal spots which can be produced from drying clothes indoors are invisible to the naked eye.

Dempsey Scrivens said: “We bought a humidifier after having this problem, best thing we ever purchased.”
